Toddler TRavel essentials
So far, the best item for travel for us has been snacks. Kids are content when they are eating, and it takes them a good amount of time go through them. This container is great because it gives your child multiple snack options, and they can press the button in the middle to switch it to whatever snack they’d like to consume next.
Just make sure you do not include any choking hazards and that you monitor your children while they are eating!
Books are one of the best travel items! If you only pack one book, a “5 Minute Stories” book, like the one pictured above would be my recommendation. They have many options, from fairy tales and popular story series, so you’re sure to find something your child enjoys while having a bunch of stories all in one place!
This toy kept my son entertained for awhile (at the time he was 2, almost 3). It’s simple enough for toddler to operate. They just press the button for it to turn a color, and continue pressing it to change the color. He was able to make simple designs with it, but it’s also something that he will enjoy to use for years to come.
This toy is a recommendation if your child loves trains. If not, it might not be the right fit. It’s a nice travel case where all the pieces go inside during travel and can be taken out/set up as pictured above. We like to take it on a trip to place out at our destination, so our kids can play with it when there’s downtime between activities.
This toy has been used to entertain both of my kids. It’s simple enough for a 1 year old which is great. It teaches them how to use different types of buttons to turn on lights. The only thing you need to remember is to check every light’s been turned off when they’re done, so the battery doesn’t wear out.
We love the mini Yoto player because it’s small/doesn’t take up a ton of room when traveling. We also personally prefer it to a Tonie Box because the cards are also easily storable (we bought the Yoto card storage binder) versus the large toy toppers for the Tonie boxes. I would also highly recommend buying the headphones, so your child can listen to their stories and songs quietly/you don’t have to hear them!
This toy has been on multiple trips with us. It’s a tech-free/mess-free way for them to draw. This can span multiple age levels which is a win!
