I love all of Stephanie Cohen’s books! They focus on simple first words, using rhyme and photographs of other kids (which kids absolutely love seeing) to entertain your children whilte simultaneously teaching them.
Kids love interactive books, and this row is full of them! Press here makes kids giggle as they press the dots, shake the book, etc. and make new things happen on every page!
Children’s Books
I bought this book for my kids for Valentine’s Day. I love to read it as parent because it’s so silly and cute (e.g. I love you more than undies love butts). If an adult can enjoy a book as much as a kid, it’s a winner!
This book was gifted to my son from a library program we took part in, and it’s amazing! We love Eric Carle books, and this one has kids see if they can imitate the different movements of each animal which is tons of fun. Plus, it follows a predictable pattern which is perfect for kids.
My sister introduced me to this book because my nephew adored it, and my kids have too. They love the photographs of babies, and they also like mimicking what they are doing on each page (e.g. Clap your hands baby. Pattycake).
There are many excellent Karen Katz “lift the flap” books. My kids enjoy lifting the flaps and seeing what lies underneath. I particularly enjoyed reading this to my kids around their birthdays and them giggling to the “No..” patterned responses until they got to the “yes.”
I was gifted this book at my baby shower, and it’s so sweet! It goes through all the ways the world prepares for your baby to enter into it. Fair warning: it’s made me cry multiple times.
My son was gifted this book on his first birthday. It’s an oldie, but a goodie! It’s interactive, where kids pat the bunny, put on the mom’s ring, etc.
